This event commemorates our town's colorful and diverse history. This year we are focusing primarily on the period from the town's incorporation in 1881 through the roaring 20’s. You'll find that a large number of event-goers will be dressed in authentic period attire throughout the celebration.
We encourage everyone to join in the fun by donning your Victorian, Edwardian, Roaring 20’s or Old West finery for any of our activities, although costuming is generally optional with exceptions noted on the events page. We greatly appreciate our guests following our historic mission in their attire at the DHC. In particular, kindly refrain from the Steampunk fantasy or modern western attire. This event is open to the public. A few of the activities require advance ticket purchase, please see each activity page for details and requirements.
Our 2014 activities were well received with many folks saying our Grand Victorian Ball is “the best they had ever attended." Folks riding the Heritage Train reluctantly gave up their insurance (gold coins) to the notorious Ike Stockton Gang during a daring Train Robbery! And, our newest activity Murder Makes a Reservation Murder Mystery Dinner Theater brought down the house as participants revealed their answers for the Who Done It thriller.
Our new 2015 activities are listed above, along with required reservations. Some of them sell out quickly. Be certain to bring your camera. It is THE BEST for photo opportunities!
Note: Pricing for the Heritage Train is now corrected. For those of you who have already purchased your tickets you will receive a refund though the train. However, you may want to call them to discuss which car and price you want reserved. 970-247-2733
